Will Confidence Lead to Health Care Reform?

Recently, democratic leaders in Congress have drawn a conclusion to pursue the passing of a health care legislation at sometime during this year. Although many may disagree with this decision, President Obama has declared that his plan to “revive” the economy is going to be a positive change for Americans.

Because of this, House Democrats have initiated a process of focusing their attention to discover a solution to health care reform. Representative Nancy Pelosi stated “We’ll go through the gate. If the gate’s closed, we’ll go over the fence. If the fence is too high, we’ll pole-vault in. If that doesn’t work, we’ll parachute in. But we’re going to get health care reform passed for the American people, for their own personal health and economic security, and for the important role that it will play in reducing the deficit.” For most Americans, the thought of healthcare reform being passed is less than favorable, but on the other hand many American citizens look forward to the new changes that are being put forward.

Also, with the health care legislation going into effect, there is a possibility that over four million careers will be created over the next ten years. Furthermore, improving the economy is the ultimate focus of democratic leaders, and to do so, educating the nation about the positive effects of health care reform is necessary. Although budgeting, gaining the interest of American citizens, and retaining votes in Congress are the most important factors in issuing this new change, there will be conflict within every battle for success.
